More than 20 chaplains gathered Oct. 26 in the Chancery, Lawrenceville, for a luncheon given in appreciation for the work they do in hospitals and prisons across the Diocese of Trenton’s four counties. The event is held annually in conjunction with Pastoral Care Week, the theme of which this year is “Hospitality: Cultivating Inclusion.”
Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M., and Deanna Sass, director of pastoral care, welcomed the guests and expressed their gratitude for the chaplains’ ministry. Sass also introduced the new ministry coordinators in her department, Deacon Bill Gallagher, jail and prison, and Rachel Hendricks, respect life, who each spoke of how the week’s theme comes to fruition in their work throughout the year.
