Bishop O’Connell joins brother bishops for USCCB Special Assembly

Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M., is taking part in the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Special Assembly in San Diego, which runs from June 16-20.

Recurring every three years, the Special Assembly is held in place of the Spring Plenary Assembly that the Conference convenes most years in which they deal with a robust business agenda. Instead, the Special Assembly is a week-long retreat for the bishops, that includes time for prayer and worship, fellowship, recreation and less formal discussions on the important matters facing the bishops now and ahead of the General Assembly in November.
