Maureen R. Weber, wife of deacon, former high school educator

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Dec. 20 in St. Rose Church, Belmar, for Maureen Regina Weber who died Dec. 17. She was 84.
Born in Newark, Mrs. Weber was a graduate of St. Rose High School, Belmar. She held an associate’s degree and bachelor of arts degree in religious education at Caldwell College, and a master of arts degree in world religion from Georgian Court College (now University), Lakewood.
For 17 years, Mrs. Weber was a radio announcer for WJLK where she headlined her own show, “Woman.” She then held a position at Monmouth Cablevision before culminating her career in St. Rose High School as a religious education and philosophy teacher until she retired in 2012.
In St. Rose Parish she was a religious education catechist and a Eucharistic minister.
Mrs. Weber is survived by her husband, Deacon Richard Weber; a brother and sister; four children and their spouses; 13 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
Burial was in St. Anne Cemetery, Wall.
