February 19, 2025 at 3:49 p.m.

Since 1884, the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Black and Indian Collection has consistently supported dioceses across the nation with funds being used to strengthen evangelization programs for the Black, American Indian, Eskimo and Aleute communities.
Always held on the first weekend of Lent, faithful in all parishes in the country will be asked to participate in this year’s BIM collection to be held the weekend of March 8-9
The USCCB’s BIMO office comprises three distinct but related organizations: the Bureau of Catholic Indian Missions (est. 1874); the Commission for the Catholic Missions (est. 1884) and the Catholic Negro-American Mission Board (est. 1907). Each organization cooperates with diocesan communities to spread the Gospel and to respond to real and pressing needs.
