CYO basketball season opens 72nd year

For the 72nd year, the Mercer County Catholic Youth Organization upheld its annual tradition of opening the basketball and cheerleading season in a prayerful and celebratory manner.

Gathered the morning of Nov. 9 in the gym of the CYO building on South Broad Street in Trenton, CYO players, coaches, cheerleaders, parents and supporters began their morning with Mass celebrated by Msgr. Dennis Apoldite, pastor of Sacred Heart Parish, Trenton, and episcopal vicar of Mercer County.
After Mass, CYO staff presented awards to winners from last season.
