Pentecost retreat scheduled May 17-18

St. Mary Parish, Middletown, will celebrate the Solemnity of Pentecost with a “Born of the Spirit” weekend retreat May 17 from 7 to 9 p.m. and May 18 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Co-sponsored by the parish and the Diocese of Trenton Catholic Charismatic Renewal, the retreat is “designed to offer participants a rich tapestry of spiritual experiences including dynamic talks, anointed worship sessions, faith sharing opportunities, prayers for the Baptism of the Holy Spirit, powerful testimonies and cherished moments of fellowship,” according to Father Jeff Kegley, St. Mary pastor, and liaison to the DOT-CCR.

In addition to Father Kegley, speakers include: Jim Tortorici, a faculty member in Christian Brothers Academy, Lincroft, and director of Encounter School of Ministry in St. Mary Parish, and parishioners, Deacon Bill and Jackie Ross, leaders of the parish’s evangelization team, and Darlene Line, coordinator of women’s discipleship.

The retreat will culminate with Mass for the Vigil of Pentecost on May 18 at 5 p.m. and will be followed by fellowship.

“All are welcome,” said Father Kegley. “Whether you’re seeking spiritual renewal, a deeper connection with God or simply a weekend of inspiration and fellowship, the Born of the Spirit Retreat welcomes individuals of all backgrounds and faith traditions.”
