Under the guidance of Msgr. Thomas Mullelly, vicar for clergy and consecrated life and director of seminarians, the seminarians of the Diocese of   Trenton gathered at San Alfonso Retreat House, Long Branch, for their annual retreat June 3-7.  Rev. James Dowd, CSSR, was the retreat master.  The seminarians found his talks excellent and very inspiring!  Bishop David M.  O'Connell, C.M., and his secretary, Father Jean Felicien, spent Wednesday with the group.

Bishop O’Connell met individually with each seminarian, celebrated and preached at Mass, and took the seminarians out for dinner at a restaurant in nearby Sea Bright.

"I always enjoy being with our seminarians," reflected Bishop O'Connell. "Any opportunity I have to encourage their vocations and to speak about their experience is worthwhile. We also have a-lot of fun, too when we are together. These are very good young men.  I pray the Lord of the harvest to guide and protect them and to send more laborers into his harvest. Pray for vocations!"
