Loretta K. Hensley, former music teacher, dies

Funeral services will be held Jan. 8 in St. Dominic Church, Brick, for Loretta K. Hensley who died Jan. 2 at age 66. She was the former music teacher in St. Dominic School.
Visitation will be held at 9 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial following at 11. Burial will be private.
Born in Newark, Mrs. Hensley earned a degree in music from Montclair State College (now University), Montclair, and a master’s in education from Georgia Court University, Lakewood.
In 1989, Mrs. Hensley joined the faculty of St. Dominic School, Brick, as the music teacher. Over the years, she extended her skills to the parish as the organist and director of the children’s and adult choirs. She launched the bell choir and show choir and served as the musical director for the drama club.
Mrs. Hensley retired from the St. Dominic community in 2019.
She is survived by her husband, Richard; three children; five grandchildren; one sister; a cousin and many friends.
