VATICAN CITY CNS – Pope Francis will preside over the usual liturgies marking the end of the Easter season, and he will help celebrate the first World Children's Day in St. Peter's Square, the Vatican said.

He will also issue the "Bull of Indiction of the Jubilee," which will announce further details about the Holy Year, on the feast of the Ascension, May 9.

The Vatican published the list of events, which include his papal liturgies and a pastoral trip, for the months of April and May.

The Pope's calendar, released April 12, includes:

– April 28 pastoral visit to Venice to celebrate Mass in the city's famous St. Mark's Square, to meet with young people and to visit female detainees at an island prison where the Vatican has set up its pavilion for the Venice Biennale art exhibition.

– May 9 vespers on the feast of the Ascension in St. Peter's Basilica and the reading of the papal bull officially proclaiming the jubilee.

– May 19 Mass in St. Peter's Basilica for the feast of Pentecost.

– May 26 Mass in St. Peter's Square on the solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity, wrapping up the first World Children's Day held May 25-26.
