The second of two Bishop’s Anniversary Blessing Masses was celebrated Oct. 22 in St. Mary of the Assumption Cathedral, Trenton, an event which drew nearly 100 married couples from Burlington and Mercer Counties who are celebrating milestone wedding anniversaries this year.

Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M., was principal celebrant and homilist of the Mass. He was joined at the altar by a contingent of priests, the majority of whom are pastors of the couples in attendance.

“A couple does not begin marriage with perfect love,” said Bishop O’Connell in his homily. “The couple grows in love and grows by loving. Love is hard work.”
