Eucharistic Miracles Exhibit on display, available for parish reservations
October 4, 2022 at 10:32 p.m.
The exhibit, which will be available throughout the parish phase of the Eucharistic Revival for parishes of the Diocese to host for two-week periods, is currently on display in the parish hall of St. Robert Bellarmine Co-Cathedral, Freehold, through Oct. 16.
Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M., will bless the Eucharistic Miracles Exhibit on Oct. 12, which is Blessed Carlo’s feast day and will mark the exhibit’s official launch in the Diocese. Parishes have been invited to host the display of which there are three that have responded with reservations in the coming months:: St. Mary of the Assumption Cathedral, Trenton; St. Dominic, Brick, and St. Theresa Parish, Little Egg Harbor.
The traveling exhibit has been created to assist those who will experience it to affirm their belief in the Real Presence of the Jesus in the Eucharist. It is hoped that the relic of Blessed Carlo Acutis, which currently resides with St. Dominic Parish, Brick, can travel with the exhibit.
Circular in shape, the exhibit is divided into seven sections or “rooms.” The first six rooms include information about the Eucharistic miracles; each panel names a miracle, recounts the story of its occurrence and the country in which it took place. The panels are arranged in chronological order from the early third century through 2013. All the rooms point to the center of the exhibit.
“This is to intentionally remind viewers that the historical miracles we are learning about on the walls of the exhibit are all pointing to the miracle in front of us – Jesus, present in the Most Holy Eucharist!” the diocesan Department of Evangelization and Family Life describes in the literature sent to pastors. “In the seventh room, the Eucharist is clearly visible in the monstrance and a place has been prepared for you to rest a while in His presence.”
“We hope that Catholic adults, teen groups, school children, and religious education classes will learn about the Real Presence of Our Lord Jesus Christ in the Eucharist,” the department continued, “and will have an opportunity to spend time in Adoration before Him after they visit the exhibit.”
The exhibit is open to all and is co-sponsored by the Tom & Glory Sullivan Foundation and the diocesan Eucharistic Revival, with generous assistance from Knights of Columbus Council #17430, St. Ann Church, Browns Mills; Maria de Jesus Luna y Andrés Luna; DiSciullo Family; Angel Romero and Felipe Garrido. The exhibits include both audio and visual presentations in each space, also accommodating Spanish language groups.
