Sister Mary Elizabeth Costello, former educator in Asbury Park school

Born July 2, 1932, in Syracuse, N.Y., Sister Mary Elizabeth (formerly known as Sister M. St. Imelda) entered the IHM congregation Sept. 8, 1949; made her temporary profession of vows May 8, 1952, and final profession of vows Aug. 2, 1955. She held a bachelor of science degree in education and a master of science degree in middle school education from Marywood College, Scranton.
Sister Mary Elizabeth served in the ministry of education as a teacher and facilitator in schools in Pennsylvania, New York, North Carolina, Connecticut, and New Jersey, including Our Lady of Mount Carmel School, Asbury Pari, from 1959 to 1961.
Sister Mary Elizabeth is survived by three brothers, a sister, nieces, nephews and members of the IHM congregation.
Due to pandemic restrictions, the funeral Mass and graveside service are private. Burial will be in St. Catherine Cemetery, Moscow, Pa.
