The challenges brought about by the coronavirus pandemic and dealing with grief during the holidays will be the focus of two upcoming workshops hosted by Francis House of Prayer, Allentown. 

“How to Feel Calmer in the Midst of the Coronavirus Pandemic” – scheduled for 7 to 8 p.m. Oct. 21 and 10 to 11 a.m. Oct. 23 – is an online offering that will address stress-related issues related to the pandemic, including fear of contracting the virus, grief associated with losing a loved one to the virus, having a loved one at risk, financial uncertainty, and juggling the work schedules of children and parents.

Through her presentation, Sister of St. Joseph Anne Myers will offer guidance on navigating the pandemic with a sense of calm.

The fee is $10; payments made by check may be sent to Francis House of Prayer, 84 Walnford Road, Allentown, N.J., 08501. To pay by credit/debit cards, visit FHOP.org.

To register for the workshop, email [email protected] and include name, phone number and email address. A link will be emailed to the participant.

A separate workshop on “Grief and the Holidays” is planned for mid-December. The program is being held online or in-person from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Dec. 15 at Francis House of Prayer. Donation is $25 and lunch is included if attending in-person. To register, call 609-877-0509, email [email protected] or complete the form found on the website.
