Second Annual New Jersey Marian Conference set for Oct. 19

In preparation for the Diocese of Metuchen’s Act of Consecration to Our Lady of Guadalupe, the second annual New Jersey Marian Conference will be held Oct. 19 in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Old Bridge, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Using the theme “Renewing Hearts on Fire,” the conference will feature speakers: Divine Word Father Ignatius Mary Okoroji; Franciscan Friar of the Renewal Giuseppe Maria Siniscalchi; Father Ariel Hernandez and Father James Walling, a member of the Congregation of the Fathers of Mercy.
Father Okoroji was ordained in the Congregation of the Society of DivineWord. He holds a master’s degree in theology and ministry for the Word.
Father Siniscalchi joined the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal in 2002 and was ordained a priest in 2011. He lived and ministered in Most Blessed Sacrament Friary from 2002 to 2016 and is presently the local servant (superior) of the recently opened St. Mary of the Assumption Friary in Newburgh, N.Y. He graduated from Boston College Law School and practiced law for nine years.
Father Hernandez is pastor of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Parish in the Camden Diocese. he was born and raised in Argentina and was ordained a priest in 2003. He is very active in the healing ministry and celebrates a monthly healing Mass in Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Parish. He has led retreats, Charismatic Masses and has been a guest speaker at several past Camden Diocesan Charismatic conferences. Father Hernandez received a special gift from the Blessed Virgin under the title of Our Lady of Schoenstatt and he is the custodian of a miraculous image of her from Argentina.
Father Walling served for years in the U.S. Navy and entered the CPM novitiate in 1995. He attended St. Philip Neri Oratory Seminary in Toronto and Holy Apostles College and Seminary, Cromwell, Conn. since his 2001 ordination, he ministered as parochial vicar in four parishes. he currently serves as chaplain in the Blue Army Shrine.
