Watch the nationally televised Easter Sunday Mass with Bishop O'Connell
July 29, 2019 at 12:37 p.m.
The nationally televised Mass of the Resurrection of the Lord aired early Easter Sunday morning – this year taking a local turn as Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M., served as principal celebrant and homilist.
Held in the Renaissance-style St. Catharine Church, Spring Lake, the Bishop reflected on the Jesus of history, and the Christ of faith, pointing out that they are one and the same, as seen in his Passion, Death and Resurrection.
The Bishop notes that Christ’s ministry caused people to hope, but his death dashed that hope for many of his followers. “But his Resurrection made everything right,” Bishop O’Connell assured.
