Hospice services provided in the home; in long-term care/skilled nursing and assisted living facilities and in hospitals. To allow them to serve a greater patient population and meet the changing needs of their patients and families, home and palliative care services are also offered in some of the CCH locations as well.
Hospice care is provided by a team of professionals and volunteers have an integral special role as a part of that team. Among the duties of volunteers include providing companionship, running errands, reading to and playing games with the patients. Volunteers also help with office/clerical duties including filing and photocopying. Training and ongoing support for volunteers is provided and a background check and fingerprints are required.
