Suspect arrested in St. Hedwig Church burglary

A man suspected of stealing a gold chalice from St. Hedwig Church, Trenton, has been arrested after police say he later attempted to break into the city’s St. Mary of the Assumption Cathedral.
Alexander Correa, 40, was arrested and charged in connection with the April 13 burglary in St. Hedwig and attempted break-in April 23 in the diocesan Cathedral.
Taken from St. Hedwig Church were several items belonging to Father Jacek Labinski, parish pastor, including a gold chalice which as a gift upon his priestly ordination. Cash was also stolen from the parish’s collection box.
