Susanne Sansevere, wife of Deacon Sansevere

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Dec. 29 in St. Gabriel Church, Marlboro, for Susanne Sansevere who died Dec. 25 following a brief illness.
A nurse for more than 50 years, Mrs. Sansevere was a graduate of St. Francis School of Nursing, Jersey City. She received a bachelor of science degree in nursing from Jersey City University and a master’s degree from New York University. She worked in St. Francis Hospital and School of Nursing for nearly 40 years as well as in St. Mary Hospital, Hoboken. She worked until her retirement in 2014 as the director of health programs in Hudson County Community College.
She was named the 2017 Irish Woman of the Year for the Jersey City Emerald Society and was a member of St. Gabriel Parish and its Altar/Rosary society.
Mrs. Sansevere was predeceased by her parents and brother. She is survived by her husband of 39 years, Deacon Stephen Sansevere; two sisters and their spouses, a brother-in-law and his wife as well as nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, two aunts, an uncle and many cousins.
Entombment was in St. Gabriel Mausoleum.
