In the girls’ Shore Conference Championships, Southern won its third consecutive team title but several Diocese of Trenton teams put on strong performances.

St. John Vianney had two gold-medal winners in Katie DiFrancesco (400 meters, 57.98) and Kaleigh Remick (pole vault, 10-0). DiFrancesco was second in the 55 meters, while Nora Honrath was third in the 1600 meters.

Red Bank Catholic’s Abby Collins won the 55-meter dash in 7.28, while Cassie Riley was second in the high jump (5-2) and the 4x400 relay team of Anna Cleary, Abby Collins, Carly Friend and Jackie Rieger was second in 4:04.58.

As usual, Donovan Catholic’s Alyssa Wilson won the shot put with a throw of 54-8.

In the Non-Public A relays, Union Catholic won the team title, but Red Bank Catholic, Notre Dame and Donovan Catholic finished 2, 3 and 4, respectively.

RBC’s Riley and Jylissa Harris finished 1-2 to win the high jump in 10-2, while the 4x800 squad of Bridget Byrne, Friend, Danielle Hayes and Kaitlin Ryan won in a time of 9:47.49. Finishing second in the shuttle hurdles were Anna Cleary, Tara Zeni, Harris and Riley, while the 4x200 team of Cleary, Collins, Rieger and Zeni took second.

Notre Dame’s Katherine Clarke (second) and Lauren Kiszely (eighth) partnered for second in the high jump, Haley Horvath (second) and Rheanna Bromwell (sixth) combined to take third in the pole vault relay, and Jaya Armstead (second) and Syanni Bagwell (11th) teamed for third in the shot put.

In running events, the Irish were third in the 1600 sprint medley behind Madison Hart, Lorretta Owoh, Miah Olaleye and Mary Kate Bailey, and third in the shuttle hurdles thanks to Miah Olaleye, Elizabeth Houck, Lorretta Owoh and Annalisa Benziger.

Donovan Catholic’s Wilson claimed the shot put (55-1.25) and teamed with Jade Caporusso (29-9) for the gold medal. The 1600 sprint medley team of Madison Brogan, Olivia Haye, Riana Ramos and Alexandra Marko took second, and the pole vault team of Kira Russell (third) and Alexa Moore (fourth) was also second.  

St. John Vianney’s distance medley relay team of Katie DiFrancesco, Cailey Kirby, Olivia Wojtowicz and Ashley Omoregie took third.

In the Non-Public B Relays, St. Rose’s Alexandra Preckajlo won the shot put (37.8.50) and teamed with Fiona Jordan to take second overall. The Purple Roses also took third in the shuttle hurdles behind Megan Lawson, Kristen Doran, Brittany Lopes and Megan Theobald.
