St. Raphael students take the stage in annual musical

The students of St. Raphael School showed appreciative audiences “a hard-knock life” could be entertaining May 15 and 16 in two performances of the musical “Annie Jr.”

About 110 budding thespians and stage hands from grades five through eight of the Hamilton Twsp. school worked on the annual spring musical as performers or behind the scenes as members of the stage crew responsible for scenery, music, sound and technology.

The Hamilton staging of “Annie Jr.”, a children’s version of the 1977 Broadway musical, featured scenery work and direction by teachers Kathleen Gronostajski and Marcie Rossidivito. Different casts played the lead roles at each performance; Erin Walker and Libby Vernon played young Annie, while Alex DeAngelis and Brian Ruhl portrayed Oliver “Daddy” Warbucks.

Supporting cast members included Cerina Pocino as Miss Hannigan; Chelsea Maguire as Grace, David DelPo as Rooster Hannigan, Gabriela Ciccone as Lily St. Regis, and Stanley Scheuerman as President Roosevelt.
