Sister Angelina I. Pepe was a Trenton native

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Jan. 28 in St. Lucy Chapel at Villa Walsh, Morristown, for Filippini Sister Angelina I. Pepe who died Jan. 23. She was 98.

Born in Trenton, Sister Angelina’s home parish was St. Joachim Parish (now part of Our Lady of the Angels Parish), Trenton. She entered the Religious Teachers Filippini and received the religious habit July 5, 1931, and her final religious profession July 8, 1934.

Sister Angelina received a bachelor of science degree in secondary education from Seton Hall University, South Orange, and a master of arts degree in counseling from Marywood College, Scranton, Pa.

Sister Angelina taught in elementary schools in the Archdioceses of Newark, Hartford, and New York and the Diocese of Trenton. In the Trenton Diocese, she served in St. Joachim School, from 1939-1943, and Villa Victoria Academy, Ewing, from 1986-1993.

Burial was in Ave Maria Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph Hall, c/o Sister Ascenza Tizzano, provincial superior, Villa Walsh, 455 Western Ave., Morristown, N.J. 07960.
