Rose F. Fradusco Alito, mother of Supreme Court Justice

Rose F. Fradusco Alito, a member of Our Lady of Sorrows-St. Anthony Parish, Hamilton, and mother of Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito, Jr., died Feb. 7 in her home in Hamilton Township. She was 98.
Funeral services were held Feb. 11 in Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Mercerville, where Msgr. Thomas N. Gervasio, diocesan vicar general, moderator of the curia and pastor of Our Lady of Sorrows-St. Anthony Parish, Hamilton, celebrated a Mass of Christian Burial.
Mrs. Alito was a school teacher for the Hamilton Township Board of Education, retiring in 1984 as the principal of Sunny Brae Elementary School, Hamilton Township, after 20 years of service with the school district. She was formerly employed for 12 years as a teacher in the Ewing Township Board of Education.
Mrs. Alito was also an active volunteer with the Mount Carmel Guild, a diocesan outreach agency based in inner-city Trenton.
Justice Alito is an associate justice of the Supreme Court of the United States. He was nominated by President George W. Bush and has served on the court since Jan. 31, 2006.
Mrs. Alito was the daughter of the late Giuseppe and Rosina Schiavoni Fradusco, wife of the late Samuel A. Alito, and sister of the late Joseph, Mary, Helen and Dorothy J. Fradusco. In addition to Justice Alito and his wife, Martha-Anne; she is survived by a daughter, Rosemary Alito Esquire; two grandchildren, and a niece.
Burial was in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Hamilton.
