Rosary Feast planned Oct. 5 in Riverton

July 29, 2019 at 12:37 p.m.

All are invited to celebrate the Feast of the Holy Rosary Oct. 5, from 7 to 8 p.m. in Sacred Heart Church, Riverton. “A Night of Prayer for Families and Friends” will be led by Father Christopher Picollo, pastor of St. Katharine Drexel Parish, Burlington. The third installment of the annual celebration will include a presentation and discussion about Mary followed by a recitation of the Rosary, with several songs included.

“At a time such as this, we need the Rosary,” said Karen Howard, a long-time religious education catechist in Sacred Heart parish, and organizer of the program. “We need to pray and be close to Jesus and Mary, and bring our children there.”

This year, the program includes collaboration with several parishes in the surround- ing area: St. Charles Borromeo, Cinnaminson; Resurrection, Delran; Our Lady of Good Counsel, Moorestown; Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Maple Shade; Jesus the Good Shepherd, Riverside; Sacred Heart Parish, Mount Holly; and St. Katharine Drexel Parish.

“This year we made a collaborative effort with all of the surrounding parishes,” she said. “I heard from all of them, and they are excited to participate.”

Howard said that she hopes youth will consider participating as well – whether as parish youth groups or with their families.

“I would just love to have the families and the children there,” she said. “It is just such a great time.”

Sacred Heart Parish is located at 103 Fourth St., Riverton.
