Nativity Parish prepares for Parish Mission: God's Unconditional Love

July 29, 2019 at 12:37 p.m.

The Ecclesia Committee of Nativity Parish, Fair Haven, has set the wheels in motion for the countdown to a four-day parish mission, “God’s Unconditional Love,” beginning May 16 at 4 p.m. to May 19 at 7:30 p.m.

The mission will include a talk after the 8 a.m. Mass on May 17 focusing on “Discipleship, Our Response to God.” The evening service includes hymns, Scripture readings, and a talk focusing on our relationship with God. On May 18 there will be exposition of the Blessed Sacrament and the Sacrament of Reconciliation will be celebrated; on May 19, Mass will be celebrated. Following the evening service, all are invited for fellowship and refreshments.

The Parish Mission 2010 will be led by a missionary team of Redemptorist Father Paul Bryan and Franciscan Sister Mary Sninsky. The Redemptorists were founded specifically to preach the Gospel and the plentiful redemption that is available to all of God’s people.

Father Robert Schecker, pastor of Nativity Parish, said: “Our parish celebration of ‘God’s Unconditional Love’ marks a time of prayer and special preaching. It is a joyful event that affords everyone the opportunity to reflect on life’s purposes, to deepen one’s relationship with the Risen Jesus and in some cases, to re-establish one’s relationship with Christ and the Church. I support this process wholeheartedly and look forward to participating. All are welcome.”

“People have told us that by the working of the Holy Spirit, the mission has been a ‘life changing experience,’ ‘a renewal of faith,’ ‘a deeper realization that God really loves me,’” said Father Bryan.
