Anticipating the official launch of the diocesan Year of Youth in October, current high school students can jump into service with Mission: Jersey, which will have multiple opportunities to put faith into action this summer as the annual service project grows to include two events.

The first, held at St. Gregory the Great Parish, Hamilton Square, will be July 12-15. An extended mission will run July 29-Aug. 3 in St. Theresa Parish, Tuckerton.

Mission: Jersey began six years ago on the parish level in the wake of Superstorm Sandy to help Shore communities rebuild after the storm. It has since grown to include helping organizations, food banks and shelters provide for those in need. This is the second year Mission: Jersey will be held on a diocesan level and sponsored by the diocesan Department of Youth and Young Adult Ministries.

Youth who attend will sleep overnight on parish grounds but travel during the days to service locations around the Diocese, as well as have opportunities for prayer, faith-sharing and making new friends in faith.

The cost for the first Mission: Jersey is $65; the longer service project is $150. For more information, visit https://dioceseoftrenton.org/youthministry or email
