Squeals of laughter, carousel  music and the smells of funnel cake and popcorn are abound in the Diocese of Trenton as parishes across the four counties host their annual fairs and carnivals.

Among them – St. Mary of the Lakes Parish, Medford, which held its second annual carnival the week of June 23.

Father Daniel Swift, pastor, called the week memorable, explaining how the carnival brought the parish together with neighboring communities. “Graces flowed across town to our second annual carnival and provided us with a fantastic week of family, fraternity and fun … a week of Jesus making ‘all things new’ (Revelations 21:5),” he said, quoting from the parish carnival T-shirts.

“It is our prayer that this carnival week provided an open door to welcome greater Medford into our parish family and for the unchurched to find a home with us,” he said.
