Mary A. Papalia, mother of priest

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Aug. 20 in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Whiting, for Mary A. Papalia, mother of Father Pasquale Papalia, pastor of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish.

Mrs. Papalia died Aug. 17 at age 91.

Born and raised in Fairview, Mrs. Papalia lived in Bayville for 38 years. She was a homemaker who devoted her life to her family. She was a member of St. Barnabas Parish, Bayville, and then joined St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish.

Mrs. Papalia was predeceased by her husband, Frank, in 1998, and her son, Vincent, in 2004. In addition to Father Papalia, she is survived by two grandsons.

Entombment was in St. Joseph Cemetery, Toms River.
