Local parishes plan to pray on Roe v. Wade anniversary

Parishes throughout the Diocese of Trenton have announced events to peacefully and prayerfully demonstrate their support for human life in all its stages and to mark the somber anniversary of the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision by the United States Supreme Court which legalized abortion:

Burlington County

Parish to hold two events

St. Joan of Arc Parish, Marlton, will have Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament Jan. 22 from noon to 7 p.m. with recitation of the Rosary at 2 p.m. followed by Chaplet of the Divine Mercy at 3 p.m. 

A Memorial Mass for Families will be held Jan. 26 at 7:30 p.m. for healing and remembrance for families who have suffered the loss of a child at any age for any reason, before birth through adulthood.  Parents, siblings, grandparents and anyone touched by a loss is welcome.  Both events will be held in the church at 100 Willow Bend Road.

Evening of prayer planned

The Respect Life Committee of St. Raphael-Holy Angels Parish, Hamilton, will hold an evening of prayer Jan. 22 beginning with the 7 p.m. Mass in St. Raphael Church, 3500 South Broad St.  The evening will include Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament, recitation of the Rosary, Adoration and Benediction.  Respect life materials will be available in the narthex.

Parish holds service for
those unable to attend
March for Life

The Respect Life Ministry Committee of St. Rose Parish, Belmar, will hold Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament all day Jan. 22 beginning after the 9 a.m. Mass in the church at 603 Seventh Ave., ending after the Chaplet of Divine Mercy at 3 p.m.  All are welcome.

Mass planned prior to departure of March for Life

St. Robert Bellarmine Parish, Freehold, will hold a Mass for Life Jan. 22 at 6:30 a.m. in the church at 61 Georgia Road before boarding the bus at 7 a.m. for Washington, D.C. for the March for Life.

Parish to hold Holy Hour for Life

St. Denis Parish, Manasquan, will hold a Holy Hour for Life Jan. 22 at noon in the church at 90 Union Ave.

Holy Hour of Prayer planned

The Respect Life Committee of St. Gabriel Parish, Marlboro, will hold a Holy Hour of Prayer Jan. 22 from 3 to 4 p.m. including Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in the Adoration Pavilion, 100 North Main St.

Chaplet of Divine Mercy, the Holy Rosary, among other prayers will be included for all lives lost to abortion, for all end of life issues, for all persecuted Christians throughout the world, for protection and safety of all pro-life marchers in D.C. and for other personal intentions.
