A panel of religious leaders representing different faith backgrounds will come together Jan. 25 to discuss what each of their religions teaches about the importance caring for the environment.

The interfaith discussion, entitled “Faith Perspectives: Caring for the Natural World,” will be held in D&R Greenway Land Trust, Johnson Education Center, 1 Preservation Place, Princeton, from 7-9 p.m. Doors open at 6:30.

Among the topics covered will be what each faith teaches about the concept of environmental stewardship and how each of their faith communities are putting those teachings into action. Representing the Catholic perspective will be Father Vincent Gartland, pastor of St. Ann Parish, Lawrenceville.

Other speakers at the event will be Rabbi Carolyn Bricklin of Beth Chaim in West Windsor, representing the Jewish faith; Dr. Attia Sweillam of Columbus, representing the Islamic faith; and Wendy Kvalheim, representing the Baha’i faith. The retired Rev. Richard Stoll Armstrong of Princeton Theological Seminary, representing the Presbyterian faith, will serve as moderator of the discussion.
