Paul J. Kim, internationally known youth speaker, vocalist and beatboxer shared his special gifts with 300 participants from around the diocese at the Diocesan Youth Celebration in St. Aloysius Parish, Jackson, April 14.

The kids enjoyed the enthusiastic way Kim shared his faith as soon as he arrived on stage in a red, “Keep Calm and Carry Your Cross,” t-shirt.

Hailed by critics who praise his harmonies, original lyrics and covers, Kim used a loop machine which he described as “having a jazz band on stage with me” to produce live multi-track vocal instrumentals.

He moved the audience seamlessly from laughter to deep reflection to prayer, using his many talents to communicate the Gospel in ways that were engaging, entertaining and inspiring. A high point of his appearance was when he brought four volunteers to the stage to create a track that delighted the audience.

As well as sharing his passion for Jesus Christ and the New Evangelization and comedy, he has released two music albums entitled “The World Sings” (2013) and “Run Fly Fall” (2009) and the videos which can be found on YouTube. They have accumulated over a million views.

Kim’s background includes a bachelor of art degree in philosophy from Franciscan University, Steubenville, and a master’s in marriage and family therapy from Hope International University, Fullerton, Calif.
