Funeral services for Sister Antoinette Petrizzo

Filippini Sister Antoinette Petrizzo died Dec. 13 in St. Joseph Hall Infirmary at Villa Walsh, Morristown.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Dec. 16 in Villa Walsh’s St. Lucy Chapel. The celebrant was Father Nicholas Figurelli.

Born in Garfield, Sister Antoinette entered the Religious Teachers Filippini Oct. 19, 1949. She received the habit Sept. 3, 1950, and made her religious profession Aug. 17, 1953.

Sister Antoinette was awarded a bachelor of science degree in elementary education from The College of St. Elizabeth, Convent Station.

Sister Antoinette began her teaching ministry in 1951, and served in a number of schools and parishes in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. In the Trenton Diocese, she was assigned to Villa Victoria Academy, Ewing; St. Jerome, West Long Branch, and Holy Trinity, Long Branch.  Sister Antoinette retired to the Villa Walsh Motherhouse in 1992, and was a resident of St. Joseph Hall Infirmary from 2001 until her death.

Sister Antoinette was predeceased by her parents Michael and Rose Calandriello, a sister and three brothers. She is survived by four nieces. 

Memorial donations will be accepted for the St. Joseph Hall Infirmary Building Fund, c/o Sister Betty Jean Takacs, MPF, Provincial Superior, Villa Walsh, 455 Western Avenue, Morristown, NJ 07960-4928.
