A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Dec. 14 in Mount St. Mary Chapel, Newburgh, N.Y., for Dominican Sister of Hope Ann Patricia Woods who died Dec. 11 in Mount Vernon, N.Y. She was 99.

Born in Philadelphia, Pa., Sister Ann Patricia entered the novitiate of the Dominican Sisters of Newburgh Sept. 6, 1929; made her first profession June 23, 1931, and final profession Aug. 20, 1937.  She earned bachelor of science and master of arts degrees in history from Villanova University, Villanova, Pa.

Sister Ann Patricia taught in schools in New York, and New Jersey, including St. Joseph School, Toms River, from 1932-1935; 1943-1944, and from 1973 -1975).  When she retired to the Dominican Sisters of Hope Newburgh Center in 1997, she was a part-time volunteer in the congregation development office.

Sister Ann Patricia is survived by a sister-in-law, nieces, nephews and their families.

Burial will be in the Dominican Sisters’ Cemetery at Mount Saint Mary.
