Diocesan Youth Celebration will reflect that 'Trenton's Got Talent'

The annual diocesan Youth Celebration, entitled “Trenton’s Got Talent: The Acts of the Apostles” will be held April 14 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in St. Aloysius Parish, Jackson. Sponsored by the Department of Youth, Marriage and Family Life, the celebration will entertain, enlighten and enable teens of high school age and members of their parish youth groups to spread the gospel message as modern-day apostles.

Keynote speaker Paul J. Kim will present his unique mix of song and inspirational talk with the audience. Kim is a vocalist, beatboxer and international speaker with a powerful message of faith, hope and love. He transformed his life from an apathetic teen who could care less about the value of going to Church into a counselor of New York City at-risk youth and missionary who spreads the word of God’s boundless love.

Teen performances using talk, dance, video, prayer, or photos will allow them to be modern day apostles who can ACT on their faith. Large and small break-out groups will discuss what it means to live as a person with gifts and talents, and how to develop them for sharing with others and God’s greater glory. Learn how saints developed their gifts and talents and how you can too.

Where do your gifts and talents lie??

At the end of the program, youth will witness the annual St. Timothy Awards ceremony for outstanding service in youth ministry, then given the opportunity to attend 4 p.m. Mass in St. Aloysius Church with Father Kevin Keelan and the Ken Perry music ministry.

Cost of the diocesan youth celebration is $20, which includes breakfast and lunch. Check-in for the celebration will begin at 8:45 a.m. in St. Aloysius School, located at 935 Bennetts Mills Road, Jackson.

Registration for the event must be completed by April 8 through your parish’s youth minister or by calling the diocesan department of youth, marriage and family life at 609-406-7410. For further details, see www. dioceseoftrenton.org/dyc2013.
