Communion reflection -- Our Lady of Sorrows-St. Anthony Parish, Hamilton
July 29, 2019 at 12:37 p.m.
Preparing seven and eight year old children for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and Holy Eucharist is very special. You are trying to make them understand about sine and the importance of forgiveness and the importance of receiving the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ. One hour a week for nine months makes this a challenging task. However, when you have a passion for what you believe in, and through the gift of the Holy Spirit, the knowledge and ability to express our Catholic beliefs and raise the children’s awareness to a level that you hope stays with them throughout the rest of their lives, then the challenge is simple and the reward is great! At the end of the year, the comments from the parents about how much their children have grown spiritually, and their gratefulness for what you’ve done, makes it all worthwhile.
