Cause for canonization of Maria Esperanza de Bianchini Mass set for Aug. 7

A Mass to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the death of Maria Esperanza de Bianchini, will be celebrated Aug. 7 at 11 a.m. in St. Mary of the Pines Church, 100 Bishop Way, Manahawkin.
Esperanza was a visionary and the central figure in the Marian apparitions at Betania, Venezuela, which were approved by the Catholic Church in 1987. After she died in Long Beach Island, N.J. in 2004, her beatification cause was initiated by the Diocese of Trenton, and her cause for canonization was opened Jan. 3, 2010.
At the Aug. 7 Mass, worshipers will have the opportunity to recall the life of Maria Esperanza and pray for the cause for her canonization. She received visions of the Mother of Christ under the title of Mary, Virgin and Mother, Reconciler of all Peoples and Nations” in the city of Finca Betania, Venezuela. Maria Esperanza traveled extensively spreading the message of the Blessed Mother.
