Catholic Women of Zion gathering Nov. 2

Catholic Women of Zion, Chapter II, will hold a mini-day retreat for women Nov. 2 from 9 a.m. to noon in St. Pius X Parish Hall, 300 Lacey Rd. Forked River. The day consists of prayer, music, speaker, sharing, and lunch. 

This month’s speaker is Lorraine Doan, a composer and lyricist. Doan was born and raised in Trenton and is a graduate of St. Anthony High School, Hamilton, and The Catholic University of America, Washington, where she majored in elementary education. Doan will share her story of how her music ministry evolved following the break-up of her 23 year marriage.

Admission is $20 and is payable on the day of the luncheon. Reservations for seating must be made by Oct. 29.  To register, call

Participants who wish to attend morning Mass are welcomed to do so at 8 a.m. in
St. Pius X Church.
