The Franciscan Friars of the Renewal will visit St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish, Whiting, for a Catholic Underground event featuring adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, music by the friars and fellowship.

Catholic Underground is an evangelization movement geared toward youth and young adults.

The March 17 event, which begins at 7 p.m., is open to youth and young adults and is free, but donations will be collected for the friars in order for them to travel and to spread the Word of God, said Rosemary MacMaster, parish youth minister. All from around the Diocese are invited.

“We opened this event up to the Diocese because our teens really enjoy the company of the friars,” MacMaster said. “They get to talk to them one-on-one. The friars seem to relate to the teens well.”

“I think this is a wonderful event for teens and young adults during Lent,” MacMaster added.

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish is located at 30 Schoolhouse Road, Whiting. For more information, contact MacMaster at [email protected] or visit http://franciscanfriars.com.
