Catholic musician Steve Angrisano to perform at St. Leo the Great
July 29, 2019 at 12:37 p.m.
Nationally-renowned Catholic singer and songwriter Steve Angrisano will bring his unique blend of ministry and music to St. Leo the Great Parish and School, Lincroft, Nov. 2.
Angrisano will spend the day with the students of St. Leo the Great School, where he will conduct an assembly at 1 p.m. He will then lead a workshop for the parish’s religious education students at 4 p.m. and will cap off the day with a concert at 7:30 p.m. The concert is open to the public and there is no charge for admission.
The event is being organized by parish director of youth ministry Joan Kret, who saw Angrisano perform at another parish last year and thought that the community of St. Leo the Great would be “inspired by his happy, faith-filled message.”
But the concert is not only intended for youth, Kret explained.
“The great thing (about Angrisano) is that he is intergenerational. He appeals to all ages,” she said.
Angrisano, a resident of Colorado, has been a parish musician, music director and youth minister for 11 years. He has performed and conducted workshops internationally, including appearances at two World Youth Day events, four National Catholic Youth Conferences and numerous parish, school and diocesan events.
Angrisano has released nine albums of contemporary Christian music, including the popular song “Go, Make a Difference.” During his workshops he weaves his songs with stories of faith, personal reflections and humorous anecdotes that engage audiences young and old.
