Representatives from OceanFirst Foundation presented a $25,000 grant on Feb. 28 to diocesan officials and representatives of Catholic Charities’ Caring Cupboard Pantry at Ocean Emergency and Community Services. O’Connell, C.M.; and Jackie Edwards, service area director for Emergency and Community Services. The Caring Cupboard provides assistance with basic needs, including food and clothing as well as other essential items, including diapers, soap, shampoo and other household items. In 2011, OceanFirst Foundation contributed roughly $1 million to community initiatives, with a total of more than $22 million in combined donations to over 600 local organizations since its inception in 1996.
