Abortion Memorial Mass Aug. 6 in Toms River

July 29, 2019 at 12:37 p.m.

A Memorial Mass for babies killed by abortion will be held Aug. 6 at 7 p.m. in St. Justin the Martyr Parish, 975 Fischer Blvd., Toms River. The Mass will honor the 3,000 babies that were aborted in the town’s abortion clinic, as well as the 100 babies aborted in Loveladies whose remains were found in the trash in 1984.

In past years, the Toms River Right to Life group has celebrated a Mass in the town’s Ocean County Memorial Park, the burial site for the Loveladies babies, noted RTL member Patricia Tardi of St. Justin’s. The August Mass at St. Justin Church will be the first for the group, and it is inviting all pro-life advocates to remember those whose lives were snuffed out by abortion.

St. Justin pastor Father Mark Kreder will be principal celebrant; assisting deacons will include Deacon Frank McKenna of St. Joseph Parish. In addition to praying for the souls of the aborted children, the congregation will include in prayer more than 200 babies whose lives were saved by the actions of protestors stationed outside the Toms River abortion clinic before it closed permanently.

The Mass will be preceded by the Recitation of a Rosary for Life (the Joyful Mysteries) at 6:30 p.m. Following the Mass, refreshments will be offered in the parish hall.

There are four Cohort 24 parishes in Toms River: St. Justin the Martyr, St. Joseph, St. Luke and St. Maximilian Kolbe.  The Ocean County cohort has adopted as its mission statement: “Leading people to the heart of Jesus where they can experience the beauty of the truth as contained in the Catholic faith.”

To sign in for this event, call the St. Justin parish office at 732-270-3980.
