The first of two Bishop’s Anniversary Blessing Masses was celebrated Oct. 4 for married couples marking one, 25 or 50 or more years of marriage. The Mass was celebrated in St. Mary of the Assumption Cathedral, Trenton, with Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M., serving as principal celebrant and homilist.
A second Mass for couples form Monmouth and Ocean Counties is scheduled for Oct. 18 at 3 p.m. in St. Robert Bellarmine Co-Cathedral, Freehold.
During the Masses, the Bishop leads the couples in the renewal of their wedding vows and he also imparts on them his episcopal blessing.
Coverage of the two Masses, including story and photos will be featured in the November issue of The Monitor Magazine.
