For the Class of 2026 of Notre Dame High School, Lawrenceville, commencement exercises began June 6 with a Baccalaureate Mass celebrated by Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M. The graduation ceremony is scheduled for June 7 at 10 a.m. in the CURE Insurance Arena in Trenton.

In his homily, the Bishop spoke of how fitting it was that the Baccalaureate Mass coincided with the Church’s celebration of the Feast of Corpus Christi, the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Jesus.
“Today, as you receive the Eucharist, remember that Christ gives you more than advice for the journey ahead. He gives you himself,” Bishop O’Connell said. “There will be new opportunities and new challenges. There will be moments of confidence and moments of uncertainty. But wherever life takes you, there will always be an altar, there will always be the Eucharist, and there will always be Christ, the Bread of Life, waiting to strengthen you.”
“Stay close to the Eucharist,” the Bishop said. “And move forward with confidence, knowing that the One who has brought you this far will continue to lead you wherever he calls you.”
