Two Masses have been scheduled for Lois Rogers, the retired features editor of The Monitor, who died March 5 in Wilmington, Delaware, at age 81. Ms. Rogers served with The Monitor for more than 10 years, retiring in 2013.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated April 9 at 11 a.m. in St. John Church, East Main & North Chapel Streets, Newark, Delaware.
Locally, a Memorial Mass will be celebrated March 27 at 11 a.m. in St. Paul Church, 214 Nassau St., Princeton, with Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M., serving as principal celebrant and homilist.
In announcing the Memorial Mass, Rayanne Bennett, the Diocese of Trenton’s executive director of Communications and Media, stated, the Memorial Mass affords the many people who knew Lois from across the Diocese an opportunity to gather in prayer for her eternal rest.”
“During her tenure with The Monitor, and before that with The Asbury Park Press, Lois Rogers touched many lives through her reporting and story-telling. Even if you did not know Lois personally, the value of her work in helping to tell the story of the Diocese of Trenton cannot be overstated. In a way, we all know Lois.”
