Pizzeria Showdown to benefit graduates
The Holy Angels and St. Raphael Alumni Association of St. Raphael-Holy Angels Parish, Hamilton, will host the first “Pizzeria Showdown” contest Oct. 15 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. in the parish center at 3500 South Broad Street.

Commemorative 18-Mile Run scheduled for Oct. 12
The 42nd annual Long Beach Island Commemorative 18 Mile Run will take place Oct. 12. Starting time and location is at 10:30 a.m. in Holgate, the southernmost point of LBI. Participants will run north on Long Beach Blvd. for 18 miles and finish at Barnegat Light State Park.
Remembering St. Francis
In remembrance of St. Francis of Assisi, whose feast day is Oct. 4, parishes around the diocese will hold special prayer services and other events, including the ever-popular pet blessing.
New survival guide program for divorced Catholics to begin
St. James Parish, Pennington, has announced a new 12 session divorce healing program “The Catholic’s Divorce Survival Guide” set to begin Oct. 7 from 7 to 9 p.m. in the church at 115 E. Delaware Avenue.

Every year, on the feast day of the Sisters of Mercy, Sept. 24, the students, faculty and staff of Notre Dame High School, Lawrenceville join together to celebrate Mass and honor the Sisters of Mercy who founded the school in 1957.

Lourdes Medical Center of Burlington County, Willingboro, and Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center, Camden, have each earned a Nurses Improving Care for Healthsystem Elders (NICHE) designation.
