The 12th annual White Mass for all those working in healthcare will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Oct. 19 in St. Luke Church, 1674 Old  Freehold Rd., Toms River.

The Mass commemorates the feast of St. Luke, patron saint of physicians as well as medical personnel who dedicate their careers to caring for the physical health and well-being of their patients.

The Mass is open to persons of all faith traditions in the healthcare profession, including friends and family members.

The name “White Mass” denotes the traditional white uniforms and lab coats worn by medical professionals. Those attending are encouraged to wear their white coat, scrubs or other work attire as desired. The blessing of hands will also take place at the end of Mass, followed by a reception for all in attendance.
