Bishop’s Anniversary Blessing Masses is time for couples to celebrate their love, faith, fidelity

 During October, married couples from around the Diocese who are celebrating milestone anniversaries – one year, 25, 50 or more years -- were recognized by Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M., for their love and fidelity to the Sacrament of Matrimony.

On Oct. 5, some 40 couples from Burlington and Mercer Counties gathered in St. Mary of the Assumption Cathedral, Trenton, for the Bishop’s Anniversary Blessing, during which the Bishop celebrated Mass and led the couples in renewing their marriage vows. The Bishop also imparted a special blessing on them.

For the 165 couples from Monmouth and Ocean Counties, the Bishop’s Anniversary Blessing was held Oct. 19 in St. Robert Bellarmine Co-Cathedral, Freehold.
