The Mass was celebrated Nov. 29 with Msgr. Richard LaVerghetta, pastor, celebrating the Mass and Deacon Gene Kotowski assisting.
Parishes around the Diocese started off the Advent season with the Blessing of Advent wreaths and lighting of the first violet candle the weekend of Nov. 29-30.
Advent is a four-week period of prayer and anticipation as Catholics prepare to commemorate the Birth of Christ.
