Bishop celebrates St. Patrick's Day Investiture Mass in Belmar church

In anticipation of the annual Belmar & Lake Como St. Patrick’s Day Parade scheduled this year for March 2, an Investiture Mass was celebrated March 1 in St. Rose Church, Belmar. During the Mass, Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M., principal celebrant and homilist invested the parade’s Grand Marshals Fran Griffin and Matthew Lee.

The Mass also provided the occasion to remember Robert K. Jenkins, who was an active member of St. Rose Parish, and member of the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick of the Jersey Shore, the Belmar Lake Como Parade committee and was the parade’s Grand Marshal in 2011.
