It was a time to celebrate Father’s Day a day early while sharing camaraderie and brotherhood for the men who participated in the annual Mass On The Mountain June 14.

Hosted by the diocesan Department of Evangelization and Family Life, and led by Josue Arriola, department director, the day began at 7 a.m. with the men of varying ages and backgrounds gathering for Mass celebrated in the National Blue Army Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima, Washington, by Father Javier Diaz, pastor of Christ the King Parish, Long Branch.

After Mass, the men traveled another 20+ miles to the Delaware Water Gap where they took part in a hiking excursion to Dunnfield Creek Natural Area and climbed to the top of Mount Tammany. By noon, the men were ready to return home and enjoy the remainder of Father’s Day weekend with their families.

More to come on this story.
