Pilgrims from four Mercer County parishes journey on Jubilee pilgrimage to Rome

As part of their observance of the Jubilee Year 2025, Father Michael Hall, pastor of St. Gregory the Great Parish, Hamilton Square, and director of the diocesan Office of Worship, and Father Stephen Sansevere, pastor of the three parishes that comprise the Catholic Community of Hopewell Valley, are serving as the spiritual directors of an 11-day pilgrimage to various cities in Italy from Jan. 27 to Feb. 6.

There are 45 pilgrims from the four parish communities on the pilgrimage that will travel to Milan, Florence, Siena, Assisi and Rome.
Highlights of their time in Italy will include visits to the Basilica of Santa Croce, the burial sites of Michaelangelo and Galileo, the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, L’Accademia, Basilica of St. Catherine, St. Francis Basilica, Santuario Della Spogliazione where Blessed Carlo Acutis’ tomb is placed, Basilica of St. Mary of the Angels, Basilicas of St. Mary Major and St. John Lateran and Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls.
The group is also expected to visit St. Peter Square where they will pray the Angelus with Pope Francis.
The pilgrimage was prepared by Journey of Faith Tours, which is headed by Carolyn Norbut, who serves in the diocesan Offices of Worship and Vocations.
